Key Responsibilities
- Directs, plans, and conducts engineering project assignments, with lead/primary responsibility for a Commercial Branch, requiring the intermediate application of engineering and associated scientific knowledge.
- Directs and prioritizes work of other engineers and designers supporting the Commercial Branch through leadership, technical advice and counsel.
- Reviews and evaluates technical work, as qualifications allows; selects, schedules and coordinates work activities to attain program objectives.
- May be required to represent the company in outside discussions.
- Responsible for staffing issues and personnel strategies in cooperation with Regional and Departmental Leadership.
- Assists branch office and staff, job sites, and customers with technical issues as required.
- Coordinates workload issues with the Regional Engineering Manager to maintain optimum response times.
- Provide technical guidance and support to designers and to other engineers in the department. Direct supervisory responsibilities for team of 2-5 individuals.
- Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent, with appropriate license.
- Full membership in a recognized professional engineering association.
- Minimum five or more years of postgraduate working experience in relevant field, preferably in shoring, forming and access scaffolding applications or similar products.
- The job requires excellent written and oral communication skills (English) to convey facts and information clearly; and to be able to interpret regulations and codes relating to the industry. Ability to prepare detailed technical reports as well as other correspondence.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software and MSOffice. Good working knowledge of structural analysis software.
- Must have Professional Engineering License for appropriate Province(s)/State(s)
- Commitment to professional career development.
- Demonstrated team work and interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and ability to work collegially with sales personnel and others to provide customer-focused engineered solutions in the rental and/or sale of forming, shoring and scaffolding products.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively, work overtime to complete task as required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may sit for prolonged periods of time. Requires concentration for sustained periods when analyzing and reviewing a wide range of routine and semi-routine documentation, facts and details in order to develop routine and semi-routine technical drawings. Frequently required to stand and walk. Dexterity is required when operating the computer and equipment.
