About the role

We are looking for a Mathematics Pedagogy Lead to join our team on an 8 month fixed term contract and champion pedagogical excellence across our Ontario learning resources. In this role you will contribute to strategic planning for upcoming mathematics projects, determining and developing pedagogical requirements for lessons, guidelines and resources. Additionally, you will work across various projects, providing clear feedback on initial lesson and question scripts from contributors and exploring ways to continuously improve our content creation processes.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with Curriculum Leads in the project planning phase to develop pedagogical requirements for lessons
  • Check Contributing Writer scripts to ensure sound pedagogical lessons and levelling
  • Develop skills and capabilities in the Editing team to enable efficient script checking with a specific focus on Mathematics
  • Coach the Editing team to provide feedback to Contributing Writers to improve pedagogical standards
  • Seek ways to improve the communication with Contributing Writers and our internal Delivery team
  • Provide training and onboarding processes for contractors to meet EP standards through the lens of Learning Design
  • Assess the effectiveness of levelling in project resources
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding process for new projects
  • Support the Head of Content Design to identify and develop any resources or training needs in regards to Learning Design
  • You may also be asked to assist content roadmap projects with writing, editing or quality checking as the need arises

About you

  • Ontario Certified Teacher with experience teaching Grades 3 - 8 in the classroom
  • Ability to lead and motivate writers and editors to achieve high-quality results and deliver projects on time
  • A willingness to multi task and switch between different content priorities as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships internal team and external contractors
  • A team player who can collaborate within a cross-functional environment
  • Experience coaching individuals to improve skills or meet goals
  • A continuous improvement mindset; always looking for opportunities to improve ways of working
  • District or Board level experience (desirable)
