We are seeking a Research Analyst to join our Health team. The successful candidate will be part of a professional research team and will support projects related to health system, health policy, health economics and health innovation research.

Our ideal candidate has… strong research, writing, and data analysis skills. In this role, they will be expected to support health-related research projects of varying size and complexity, analyze qualitative and quantitative datasets, author research reports, and respond to customer information requests. Ideally, this candidate is passionate about using data to tell forward-thinking, impactful stories, independently anticipates and solves problems, and applies a creative lens to research design and execution.

We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and be a proactive communicator. About The Role

On a typical day, you will:

  • Help advance the Conference Board’s Value-Based Healthcare Canada Research Centre’s initiatives and the Health area’s broader health research portfolio.
  • Work closely with the Director and other research staff to ensure timely delivery of research deliverables, conceptualize new research initiatives, and prepare research proposals.
  • Support research projects using appropriate methodologies, such as:
    • survey design
    • quantitative data analysis (e.g. using SPSS Statistical Software)
    • qualitative data analysis (e.g. using NVivo)
    • literature reviews
    • case studies
    • developing guides for interviews and focus groups
    • conducting interviews and focus groups
  • Produce high quality, well-written research reports, executive summaries, articles, and proposals.
  • Translate complex research results into key messages for senior executives and decision makers.
  • Think strategically and respond quickly to multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Support products and services related to workshops, webinars, and conferences.
  • Build research expertise to speak with credibility on a wide variety of health-related issues (from health human resource needs to implementation of innovations in health systems) in presentations and business meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, colleagues, research advisors and external stakeholders and participate in internal and external meetings.

About You

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in health, public policy, economics, sociology, psychology or other related discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of research experience in a professional applied research or business environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the key issues facing Canada’s health system(s) across the broad group of stakeholders and rightsholders in health.
  • Extensive understanding of health equity issues in play across Canada, and the relationship between equity and health outcomes.
  • Thorough understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies including surveys, literature reviews, interviews, focus groups, and case studies.
  • Strong quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis skills.
    • Experience using SPSS and/or NVivo would be a definite asset.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely and quickly; examples of published work would be an asset.
  • Proven project management skills (e.g., establishing goals, priorities, and deadlines)
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Bilingualism would be an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada to attend in-person conferences and/or network meetings.

The salary for this position ranges from $56,100 to $57,900 CAD annually for candidates from any Canadian province or territory. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, specific skillsets, as well as market and business considerations.
