POSITION SUMMARY:
The Strategic Market Access Manager (SMAM) will be responsible for supporting the company’s global health economics, reimbursement, and market access strategy. This role will collaborate closely with the Director and VP of HE&R, Senior Leadership, Sales, and Marketing team members to develop and deliver the reimbursement strategy and support for our therapies in interactions with customers. Other support responsibilities could include leading direct payor advocacy strategies, evidence planning and strategy, and constructing health economic tools. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, reimbursement processes, health economics, and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- The Strategic Market Access Manager, will represent AtriCure HE&R with major cross-functional teams and strengthen reimbursement and market access strategies to include;
- Conduct thorough reimbursement market assessments to identify key stakeholders, market trends, and reimbursement landscape.
- Develop comprehensive market access strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate market access considerations into product development and commercialization plans.
- Analyze pricing structures and reimbursement mechanisms for medical devices in target markets.
- Develop and implement reimbursement submissions and negotiations with government payers.
- Utilize real-world evidence to strengthen reimbursement submissions and support market access initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze healthcare policies, regulations, and guidelines impacting market access for medical devices.
- Engage with relevant government agencies, payers, and industry associations to advocate for favorable policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, regulatory affairs, and clinical affairs, to ensure alignment on market access strategies.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on market access considerations and strategies.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and advocacy groups.

- Must be organized and detail oriented;
- Must live within 45 minutes of a major airport (no relocation assistance is available);
- Computer skills to include MS Excel, Power Point, Word, and CRM software;
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare management, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MPH) preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in market access strategy within the medical device industry.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, reimbursement processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience working with AMA on CPT codes as well as NTAP applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.
- Certified Professional Coder or equivalent (AAPC, AHIMA)
- Ability to travel up to 20%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, electrophysiology, and arrhythmias;
- Documented examples of working with sales and commercial organization
- Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
- Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
