Job summary




NetApp is looking for a Product Manager to join the product management team, who has successfully managed the storage media portfolio in storage companies. He/she has a track record of working in highly effective product management teams and working collaboratively with global R&D.


This is an individual role reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, he/she will work closely with the company Product leadership teams, Sales, TME, Engineering, P rocurement, Marketing and Support teams and more importantly with all our media suppliers to execute a compelling product strategy working and owning the media strategy across the NetApp portfolio!


This role is focused on an evolving market bridging the gap between spinning media and high performance flash media and following technology trends.






Responsibilities





  • Manage pricing and work with supply chain and procurement and vendor partners to improve margins and/or reduce costs

  • Document requirements in a Marketing Requirements Document (MRD) and Product Requirements Document (PRD) and drive those with engineering to execution

  • Gather, validate, and evaluate product/market requirements through market and customer research, competitive and product research involving customer visits, advisory councils, industry events, analyst relationships, etc

  • Own and drive the quarterly business/technical reviews with our media suppliers from a Product management perspective

  • Provide insights to the business through analytics and market research in collaboration with Product and Technical Marketing and the Procurement teams

  • Metrics and Reporting: Define key performance indicators and develop metrics to measure the business and customer trends. Provide regular reports to leadership and stakeholders on progress and achievements.

  • Compliance and Standards: Stay up to date with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications, ensuring that our products comply with industry best practices and meet the necessary requirements.

  • Innovation and Research: Continuously explore emerging technologies, industry trends, and market opportunities to identify innovative solutions and drive product enhancements.

  • Coordinate with engineering and the field to facilitate BETA testing activities with end users/testers

  • Translate system functionality into business relevant language

  • Collaborate with R&D to translate market requirements into innovative new technology and with support to deliver solutions that have fast time-to-value and accelerate time-to-revenue

  • Execute product vision, direction, and business plans, including product plans/roadmaps, product evolution and product lifecycle process

  • Influence pricing and cross functional requirements (sales, channels, services and marketing) to bring offer(s) to market for on-premises and cloud deployments

  • Lead technical responses to customer (internal and external) requests, including customer RFIs and RFQs and specification gap analyses.






Job requirements





  • 5+ years in product management.

  • Experience in hardware product management

  • Deep expert knowledge in media technology around SAS, NL-SAS, Flash, NVMe, NAND, Solid State Drives (SSDs) Shelves, PCI, FIPS, etc for client, data center and enterprise storage markets

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary

  • Problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to work well autonomously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Sustainability Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy for our technology products with our media vendors, ensuring alignment with our organization's overall sustainability objectives.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Experience working with teams across geographies and business units.

  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication/presentation skills with strong ability to influence people at all levels and in various functions.

  • BA/BS required, in Computer Science or related technical degree preferred

Preferred requirements:



  • Knowledge with backup and disaster recovery architectures for SAN and NAS environments

  • Experience with Tableau, SalesForce

  • Experience in JIRA

  • Knowledge around CPUs, GPUs and DPUs

  • MBA



Travel requirements:
15% to 25% of travel will be required

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is [$172,080] – [$241,890]. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law. In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
