Leidos Health & Civil office of the CTO are seeking a dynamic and talented Healthcare Data Scientist to join our innovative team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in extracting insights from data, implementing machine learning models, and contributing to data-driven decision-making processes.



What you will do:



  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to uncover valuable insights.

  • Develop and implement Machine Learning (ML) models and algorithms.

  • Collaborate with the team to design and execute data experiments.

  • Utilize cloud platforms for data storage, processing, and analysis.

  • Experience in data engineering and building data pipelines.

  • Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data science, with a focus on healthcare informatics.



What skills you bring:



  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field. 8 years of related Experience in Healthcare areas, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR)

  • Strong proficiency in Python programming languages, R programming language is desired.

  • Strong working knowledge of data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)

  • Familiarity with machine learning (ML) concepts and algorithms.

  • Analyze and interpret complex healthcare datasets, including Electronic Heath Record (EHR) data, climate data, transportation data to extract valuable insights.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Matplotlib, Seaborn, tableau)

  • Basic understanding of databases systems and SQL

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) in a healthcare and biomedical data (ex., clinical and life-sciences) context.

  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and familiarity with generative AI tools for innovative data-driven solutions.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Requires US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
