Leidos Health & Civil office of the CTO are seeking a dynamic and talented Healthcare Data Scientist to join our innovative team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in extracting insights from data, implementing machine learning models, and contributing to data-driven decision-making processes.
What you will do:
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets to uncover valuable insights.
- Develop and implement Machine Learning (ML) models and algorithms.
- Collaborate with the team to design and execute data experiments.
- Utilize cloud platforms for data storage, processing, and analysis.
- Experience in data engineering and building data pipelines.
- Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data science, with a focus on healthcare informatics.
What skills you bring:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field. 8 years of related Experience in Healthcare areas, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Strong proficiency in Python programming languages, R programming language is desired.
- Strong working knowledge of data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
- Familiarity with machine learning (ML) concepts and algorithms.
- Analyze and interpret complex healthcare datasets, including Electronic Heath Record (EHR) data, climate data, transportation data to extract valuable insights.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Matplotlib, Seaborn, tableau)
- Basic understanding of databases systems and SQL
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) in a healthcare and biomedical data (ex., clinical and life-sciences) context.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and familiarity with generative AI tools for innovative data-driven solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Requires US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
