Humana Healthy Horizons is seeking a Data Manager Lead who supports all clinical and population health analysis and measurement in support of Medicaid’s Equitable Population Health Management goals. The Data Manager Lead consults with clinical and business partners and helps them solve problems through insightful, actionable analytics and helps business partners assess incremental value of existing efforts and identify new levers that generate incremental value for the organization. The Lead collaborates with teammates to bring complimentary skillsets to larger projects and works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial


The Data Manager Lead supports implementation of government and industry policies for requirements management, document management, change management, production and delivery, and configuration management of the performance, functional, and physical baselines.



The Data Manager Lead roles and responsibilities:



  • Gathers market intelligence to understand the Medicaid State clinical metric and outcome requirements and the needs of members within the state.

  • Describes the tools, technologies, applications, and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data to create insightful and actionable business information.

  • Acquires, validates, stores, protects, and processes required data to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of the data for its users.

  • Develops and executes architectures, policies, practices, and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise.

  • Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.

  • Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

  • Coordinates with other data and reporting teams to ensure non duplication of work.

Required Qualifications



  • Must work hours within the Eastern Standard Time Zone from a location within the United States.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 5 or more years of technical experience within the healthcare environment.

  • 2 or more years of project management experience.

  • Prior experience performing clinical analysis and/or research to create analytic solutions for healthcare sectors.

  • Advanced knowledge in database design, data models, and data warehousing.

  • Advanced experience using Structured Query Language (SQL).

  • Formal training with large data sets and healthcare data statistics.

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs.

  • Proficiency in verbal/written communication to senior and executive leadership, as well as external stakeholder.



Work at Home Requirements



  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with SAS and/or SPSS, Minitab and using Azure Synapse Analytics.

  • Intermediate to advanced experience in programming, analytical work, and with claims data.

  • Familiarity or prior experience with data governance and literacy.

  • Master's degree or PhD.

  • Experience working with Medicaid requirements and guidelines.

  • Core Workdays & Hours: Typically, 8-5 pm Monday – Friday; Eastern Standard Time (EST) with flexible scheduling (i.e. occasional nights and weekends).

Interview Format

Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed, and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc


$104,800 - $144,300 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance
