Our shipped titles include critically acclaimed multi-platform games Apex Legends, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. Join us for the opportunity to create groundbreaking games with some of the best developer talent in the industry.

The Apex Legends team is looking for a Senior Procedural Technical Artist to drive the development and maintenance of procedural workflows across the franchise. You will be working within a multidisciplinary group specifically focused on identifying opportunities for these techniques, building solutions and carrying them across the finish line into production.

Why Join Us?

  • This role is an opportunity to participate in a dedicated, long term workflow initiative to modernize the way we make content.
  • As a Senior you will have broad agency to guide and deliver solutions as you see fit.
  • Opportunity to help establish these workflows across the franchise and change how we work.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Champion these techniques with artists, designers, and programmers to ensure procedural systems meet their goals and improve their workflows.
  • Procedural System Development: Design artist-friendly tools and markup to generate content elements (e.g., set dressing, buildings, greeble, and destruction) quickly and easily.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize procedural workflows so they are fast but also the outputs of them so they produce ideal assets.
  • Research & Development: Prototype ideas and evaluate new technologies
  • Education & Mentorship: Teach the team how to benefit from these techniques and how to use these tools to their advantage, write clear documentation and guide artists in procedural software techniques.

Qualifications

  • Experienced production artist with solid understanding of fundamentals
  • Deep understanding of game pipelines and workflows
  • Technical proficiency processing geometry and procedurally placing content in Houdini, Bifrost or another package.
  • Ability to design scalable solutions that adapt to specific product needs, ideally without incurring additional art authoring burden.
  • Able to demonstrate a pragmatic approach to cost, risk, and tradeoffs when considering new technology.
  • Self-supporting in Houdini, Python, VEX, USD.

If this opportunity sounds like a great fit for you, please submit your resume and portfolio and we will get back to you once we have reviewed them.
