Why Is This Role Important
As a Digital Designer, Shoppers Drug Mart you will be responsible for developing design deliverables that elevate, differentiate, and function on-brand and on-strategy. We are looking for someone with strong creative and technical skills, who can handle multiple projects at once – seeing projects from ideation through to production. Candidate would report into the Associate Creative Director.
What You'll Do
- Participate in design sessions and contribute through creative concepts and creative input.
- Be involved in conceptualization and design of graphic applications from concept to completion.
- Create designs that are consistent with our brand guidelines.
- Be accountable for brand consistency across campaigns and assets.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the design and copy team to support design needs and ad-hoc requests.
- Present design solutions to key stakeholders.
- Be detailed in your organization of projects. This includes management of project briefs, awareness of project specs, deadlines, files, etc.
- Balance and manage your own workload according to the established business priorities and timelines.
- Use AI tools provided by the team within defined creative parameters, and explore new tools and opportunities within the AI space.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic/Digital Design or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
- 3-5 years experience in graphic/digital design in a marketing environment.
- Excellent typography skills and project management skills
- Excellent knowledge of pre-press file preparation including font management and support file links.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac platform.
- Ability to be innovative and creative.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in order to effectively source information, obtain approvals, build relationships, and provide sufficient influence to achieve success.
- Excellent organizational, planning and problem solving skills.
- Strong graphic design skills and great attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly react to and adapt to sudden changes with initiative and creativity.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadline-driven task/projects in a fast paced environment.
- Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
- 3-5 years in digital design creating digital marketing collateral and editorial designs
- A strong portfolio (only candidates with a portfolio will be considered)
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency in Figma
