Prepare Tooling designs for the Rolling Mills and Assembly departments and Support Manufacturing with Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement
Essential Functions
- Prepare tooling designs as required for the New Product Schedule.
- Incorporate quick change features as appropriate.
- Produce detail tooling drawings.
- Meet deadlines as specified.
- Assist with the manufacture of tooling as appropriate
- Supervise first use to ensure appropriate shapes, installation and efficient use
- Coordinate and ensure acceptable rework if necessary
- Design and develop efficient tooling for the Rolling Mills and Production Assembly
- Incorporate standardization and quick-change methods whenever appropriate
- Document and catalogue all tooling lists for set-up and control purposes.
- Maintain drawings current
- Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Degree (or equivalent)
- 5 years Tooling Design Experience
- Problem Solving and Project Management experience
- Hands-on shop floor experience
- Working knowledge of APQP and IATF requirements
- Demonstrated working knowledge in MasterCam
