Creates well defined moderately complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from schematics and input from Design Engineers
Essential Functions
- Partners with Product Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to produce complex PCB Designs that are timely, robust, and economical
- Data setup for complex PCB designs
- Independently determines general approach and provides reliable solutions to technical problems
- Collaborates and adds value to engineering design reviews
- Contributes to determining feasibility of project goals/objectives
- Contributes to testing tools introduced to the team
- Contributes to PCB Design process improvement projects
- Ability to mentor one or more PCB Designers
- Demonstrates expert knowledge in PCB Design and Engineering processes
- Practices PCB Design's Mission and Vision Statement and exhibits enthusiasm for and a desire to see Garmin succeed
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR a minimum of 2 years experience performing a substantially similar role OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Must demonstrate an ability to read schematics
- Must demonstrate proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Experience with Cadence Allegro
- Working knowledge of all types of electronic components
- Working knowledge of electronic circuits theory of operation
