The Employment Support Professional provides services to people in a vocational setting. They assist with activities in a workplace environment and provides employment supports to people working at their jobs and in their community. The Employment Support Professional ensures that people who experience disabilities belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected. They work in cooperation with their team and completes administrative duties as assigned.

Employment Support Professional employees build communities that value the contributions of people who experience developmental disabilities. They assist with activities of daily living, working collaboratively with families, advocates, friends, and community partners in order to promote full citizenship and enhance relationships. Recognizing people’s right to self-determination, and valuing their unique gifts while encouraging continuous growth and development is only a part of what makes this a rewarding career.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • A valid Sask. Full Class 5 or a Sask. Novice 2 drivers license and access to reliable transportation
  • Satisfactory Driver's Abstract

Preferred

  • 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
  • Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field

Other Considerations

  • Industrial Work setting
  • Loud environment
  • Supervision of participants while they work on their preferred tasks based on their skills and interests
  • Ensuring when persons supported are using equipment, they are being safe as well as having safe body mechanics
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Operating saws and other power tools considered an asset
  • Wood working and carpentry experience considered an asset
  • Mechanically inclined considered an asset
