Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization in Jacksonville, is seeking a temporary HR Clerk to provide recruiting and human resources support during an organizational transition. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys recruiting, onboarding, and interacting with people in a mission-driven environment.
This is expected to be a 90-180-day contract assignment. While a permanent position is not anticipated, there is a small possibility based on future organizational needs.
Responsibilities
Support full-cycle recruiting for a variety of positions
Conduct initial phone screens using structured interview questions
Evaluate candidates and document interview notes for hiring managers
Coordinate interviews and hiring activities
Manage new hire onboarding and orientation scheduling
Complete employment paperwork and onboarding documentation
Process and verify I-9 documentation
Coordinate background checks and pre-employment requirements
Maintain employee personnel files and HR records
Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department
Qualifications
1-3 years of HR, recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR administrative experience
Comfortable conducting phone interviews and speaking with candidates throughout the day
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with onboarding and new hire documentation
Experience maintaining employee records
Previous experience supporting high-volume recruiting is a plus
Schedule & Benefits
Full-time, Monday-Friday
Typical schedule between 7:30 AM-5:00 PM (some flexibility)
100% onsite in Jacksonville
Complimentary lunch provided each workday
