This role offers the opportunity to serve as the primary financial partner to ownership while helping guide the company's financial operations and long-term planning.
The Role
ADFAC is seeking a Part-Time CFO / Controller to oversee the company's financial function, providing strategic financial guidance while remaining hands-on with day-to-day accounting and reporting. The position works closely with ownership to support financial planning, compliance, and operational decision-making.
This long-term remote engagement is designed for an experienced finance executive seeking meaningful impact with a flexible part-time schedule and responsibility for a single business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Lead the monthly financial close process and financial reporting.
- Ensure GAAP compliance across accounting activities.
- Develop budgets, rolling forecasts, and budget-to-actual analyses.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and lessor accounting for equipment leasing operations.
- Oversee banking relationships and cash management.
- Monitor loan covenant compliance.
- Partner with the external CPA firm on tax planning initiatives.
- Coach and develop the Accounting Specialist.
- Serve as the primary financial advisor to ownership.
- Support strategic financial decision-making and business planning.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Big Four/Five public accounting experience is a plus.
- Hands-on controller experience with executive-level financial judgment.
- Strong understanding of recurring revenue metrics, including MRR, churn, and margin.
- Availability during Pacific or Hawaii business hours.
- $150–$165 per hour.
- Long-term 1099 independent contractor engagement.
- Approximately 40–50 hours per month (9–12 hours per week).
