Hamilton Building Supply is seeking a candidate for a Lumber Yard/Warehouse Associate position to support its lumber and building materials operation. The Lumber Yard/Warehouse Associate is responsible for helping customers to load orders and keeping the yard and warehouses neat and tidy. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, great attitude and excellent customer service.

Hamilton Building Supply is a 2021 Lumber and Building Material Dealer of the Year and has been independent for 101 years. HBS is financially strong, and family owned.

Responsibilities

  • Pull products and prepare them for customer pickup
  • Safely operate a sit-down rider forklift and maintain a valid forklift certification.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and provide general assistance and customer service.
  • Assist customers in renting trucks by explaining rental fees, providing information about rental items, and receiving trucks/items back from customer during return process.
  • Load Box Trucks and Drive as needed.
  • Notify Operations Supervisor of any issues in the yard or warehouse.
  • Operates company equipment safely and maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and yard.
  • Follows yard guidelines to maintain a safe working environment (i.e., speed limits, etc.)
  • Willing to work outdoors in variable temperatures and weather conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Lumber, Building Material, Warehouse experience is ideal
  • Strong work ethic and desire to grow personally and professionally
  • Willingness to make customer service top priority
  • Ability to communicate with team members
  • Ability to lift 50 and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Forklift experience
