The Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We provide both air and ground operations and deliver medical interventions, treatments, and critical care in every corner of the Yukon. Leadership, dedication, and partnership guides our work. We enact these qualities from the moment we receive a call to the time when we transfer a patient at a health care facility.
Who We Are Looking For
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Deputy Chief, Technical Operations is responsible for the Leadership of YEMS Clinical Operations including the Clinical Education program, Fleet and Logistics, and the Emergency Response Coordination Communications program (dispatch). The incumbent will use integrity, good judgment and initiative to ensure Clinical Competency as well as the delivery of Emergency Medical Services by both Air Ambulance and Land Ambulance throughout the territory.
The ideal candidate will have strong strategic thinking skills, client service orientation, and a flexible, proactive approach to working with staff, colleagues, and clients. They will resolve issues and problems using effective communication skills, as well as making decisions with integrity using balanced judgment.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Significant experience providing advanced and or critical pre-hospital care such as advanced care paramedic or equivalent;
- Experience leading, developing, and managing individuals, teams, and projects;
- Experience managing financial, and material resources;
- Recent experience providing the delivery of health care quality assurance and education; and
- Experience with EMS systems (eg. dispatch, LMS) or equivalent would be considered an asset.
- Valid ACP or CCP licence from a paramedic governing body in Canada or current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
- Medical clearance
- Vulnerable sector check (completed within 2 weeks of hire)
- Valid ACP,CCP or RN licence.
- Valid Class 4 driver’s licence (or equivalent)
