Position Overview
CJPAC is looking for a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to support our social media, digital content, event promotion, email marketing, and communications work.
Social media is a major part of this role. You will help plan, write, schedule, design, edit, publish, and improve content for CJPAC’s channels, with a focus on consistent messaging, strong visuals, timely execution, audience growth, and clear calls to action.
The role also includes broader marketing and communications support. You will help draft event and program copy, create graphics, support email campaigns, capture content at events, proofread materials, track basic performance metrics, and keep projects moving.
This is a strong fit for someone early in their marketing career who writes well, understands social media, has good design judgment, cares about details, learns quickly, and wants to grow in a national organization working at the intersection of politics, community, and civic engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Social Media and Content
- Plan, create, schedule, and publish content across CJPAC’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
- Draft posts, captions, reels, stories, event promotions, program updates, campaign content, and recaps.
- Create and edit short-form social videos, including reels, event clips, captions, basic cuts, and platform-ready content.
- Create polished social graphics and simple marketing materials in Canva.
- Help manage the social media calendar and keep content organized, timely, and aligned with CJPAC’s priorities.
- Monitor social media activity, identify opportunities for stronger engagement, and prepare basic reporting on content performance and audience growth.
- Draft and adapt copy for event invitations, program promotions, newsletters, website updates, email campaigns, print materials, and other communications.
- Support marketing plans for CJPAC events, programs, campaigns, and national initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal teams, regional staff, vendors, and partners to gather information and keep projects on track.
- Proofread materials and verify key details, including names, titles, dates, links, captions, and approval requirements.
- Help ensure CJPAC’s communications are accurate, polished, on-brand, and appropriate for a multi-partisan political engagement organization.
- Provide backup support for email execution in Salesforce Account Engagement, including building, testing, formatting, and scheduling emails.
- Assist with email list preparation, segmentation, suppression checks, and campaign coordination.
- Help prepare event promotions, reminders, follow-ups, and post-event communications.
- Support event and program promotion before, during, and after launch.
- Capture photo and video content at select events for use in social media, newsletters, recaps, and future promotions.
- Help identify strong moments, visuals, quotes, and takeaways that can become useful content.
- Attend events, including occasional evening and weekend events, to support marketing needs.
- 2 or more years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, digital content, or related field.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate, engaging copy for different audiences and channels.
- Solid grasp of social media platforms, content formats, posting practices, and audience engagement.
- Experience creating and editing short-form social video, including reels, event clips, captions, basic cuts, and platform-ready content using tools such as CapCut, Canva, or similar apps.
- Experience creating polished social graphics and simple marketing materials in Canva.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with dates, names, titles, links, captions, audience lists, etc.
- Proficiency leveraging AI platforms, digital tools, and emerging technologies to save time and optimize work product.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Good judgment when working on political, community, donor, partner, and public-facing communications.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, ask good questions, and improve quickly.
- Hands-on experience working or volunteering on a Canadian political campaign is a strong asset. Broader familiarity with Canadian politics, government, public affairs, or civic engagement is also valued.
- Familiarity with the Jewish community or experience working in a community-based organization.
- Experience with Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot), or other email marketing platforms.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite or another social media scheduling tool.
- Experience building or supporting paid social media campaigns through Meta Ads Manager.
- Experience updating websites or working with a content management system.
