Logistec is hiring a Janitor that can play a key role in keeping the Port of Manatee running smoothly by ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment throughout our terminal facilities. This position supports daily port operations by creating a professional and sanitary workspace for employees, visitors, and operational teams across offices, break areas, restrooms, and shared spaces.
Responsibilities
What your day looks like as a Janitor:
- Clean and sanitize office spaces, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in administrative and operational areas
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and restroom products
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting facility issues
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior walkways and designated terminal areas as needed
- Follow all safety procedures while working in a marine/industrial environment
- Support housekeeping needs during inspections, audits, or special port activities
- Report any safety hazards, spills, or maintenance concerns immediately
What we’re looking for
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred (industrial or warehouse environment is a plus)
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, bending, lifting up to 30-50 lbs)
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Industrial port setting with exposure to outdoor conditions, machinery, and cargo operations
- May require early morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on terminal needs
- Must follow strict safety protocols, including PPE requirements when in operational areas
