We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll/Accounting person to join our accounting team. The Accounting and Payroll Specialist will be responsible for overseeing accurate timekeeping for biweekly payroll for 2 entities. Payroll includes supplemental pay types and bonus payroll along with supporting month-end close activities and account reconciliations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee compensation, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Required Skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Payroll:

Process bi-weekly payroll for 2 businesses alternating weeks
Review electronic timekeeping earnings, deductions, and payroll adjustments for accuracy
Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information with discretion and integrity
Coordinate payroll-related activities, including benefits- HSA, 401K deductions and weekly submissions to admin
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Assist with payroll tax filings, W-2 preparation, and year-end payroll activities
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly

General Accounting:

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience, with experience processing payroll in dedicated software and accounting software.
Experience with dedicated all-inclusive payroll software EI: Netchex, Paycor, Paycom, ADP etc.
Knowledge of medical deductions, HSA and 401K reporting requirements
Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
