Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. Purpose

Site Maintenance Labourers assist the Site Maintenance & Services team in completing diverse maintenance projects both onsite, and in the camp.

The Red Chris Mine Site Services team is recruiting for a Labourer opening with a competitive hourly rate of $35.45, with additional benefits.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly-In, Fly-Out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotation.

Essential Duties

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong commitment and adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Operate a variety of trucks to support maintenance efforts around site, including gravel, water and septic trucks.
  • Assist with other maintenance activities as required.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations..
  • Ability to perform labouring and other tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements.
  • A team player that works well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and MS Outlook preferred, SAP experience a distinct asset.
  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced team members.
  • Other duties as required.

Training & Experience

Position Requirements Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • A Valid Class 3 drivers license, with Air Brakes endorsement required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years in related experience required.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Candidates to provide information regarding Safety Program related training & experience, Equipment specific training and skills plus other trades related tickets and certificates
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Mechanically inclined to work with different trades.
  • Ability to operate different kind of equipment including but not limited to telehandler, skid steer, and manlifts.
  • Assist in Hydro-vac operations.

The expected hourly rate for this role is CA$35.54 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
