A Quality Assurance Test Engineer role focused on developing and executing test plans within a remote environment. This position involves creating test models, conducting structured walkthroughs, and coordinating product tests to ensure quality standards are met across various systems and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs test models, including test plans, data, and scripts, to support product testing and release control.
- Conducts structured walkthroughs to review testing processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Executes assembly or product tests, ensuring compliance with defined acceptance criteria.
- Develops, updates, and maintains testing standards and procedures to align with industry best practices.
- Resolves testing process questions and issues, providing technical guidance to team members.
- Assists in planning, creating, and controlling test environments to support testing activities.
- Coordinates and executes assembly or product tests with the Test Team, Application Team, and Project Manager.
- Monitors estimated time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals for assigned tasks, providing status updates.
- Works with team members to enhance testing skills and build technical and business knowledge.
- Updates and tests release installation procedures to ensure smooth deployment.
- Applies industry developments and new processes to improve testing practices.
- Defines and utilizes entry and exit criteria for testing phases.
- Schedules structured walk-throughs or inspections, resolving issues identified during reviews.
- Collaborates with users to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Identifies and tracks issues, risks, and action items affecting testing efforts.
- Assists in managing and directing Test Team processes to improve efficiency.
- Develops contingency plans to address potential testing disruptions.
- Participates in assembly or product test execution as needed.
- Assists Application Teams in planning and executing component and assembly tests.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven ability to create test plans and scripts
- Experience working in a team environment
- State experience (explicitly required)
- Familiarity with testing standards and procedures
- Knowledge of industry best practices in quality assurance
- Ability to develop understanding of system business requirements
- Experience with test environment setup and management
- Strong communication skills for status updates and issue resolution
