Position Title: Project Manager, Supply Chain

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Requisition ID: 42240

In every role, McCainers are ambitious, curious, and passionate about creating exceptional work experiences - together. With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy.

McCain Foods is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Supply Chain Excellence team. In this high-impact role, you will lead large-scale, cross-functional supply chain projects — including new distribution center launches, 3PL integrations and network optimization initiatives across North America. You will own the full project lifecycle from business case development through post-mortem, managing budgets of $3M+, cross-functional stakeholders, and third-party vendors to deliver on time and on budget.

What You'll Be Doing.

Supply Chain Transformation & Distribution Network Optimization

  • Lead end-to-end project management for greenfield and brownfield warehouse openings, network redesign, and distribution center transitions across North America.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders (plant operations, engineering, supply chain planning, finance) and external partners (3PLs, material handling equipment providers, general contractors) to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Apply supply chain management principles to streamline distribution networks and improve customer service levels.

Project Planning & Business Case Development

  • Develop detailed business cases for large-scale, cross-functional projects ($3M+ total value, 4+ month execution) spanning Value Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Customer Solutions, and Finance.
  • Lead cost-benefit analysis, resource planning, ROI projections, and stakeholder approval processes.
  • Define project scope, milestones, KPIs, and success criteria; manage scope creep through disciplined change control.
  • Translate complex operational requirements into actionable project plans using project management best practices (PMI/PMBOK framework).

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, RACI matrices, risk registers, and issue logs using project management tools.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and drive accountability across internal teams and third-party partners.
  • Monitor project health against timeline, budget, and quality metrics; proactively escalate risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Conduct post-mortem and lessons-learned assessments; develop and implement process improvements for future projects.
  • Delegate tasks effectively; hold internal teams and external vendors accountable to scope, timeline, and quality commitments.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and external vendors.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly to all organizational levels — from front-line operations to executive leadership.
  • Manage competing stakeholder priorities; filter and synthesize input to maintain project focus and momentum.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Mentor and coach project team members and analysts in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across cross-functional project teams.
  • Champion a customer-centric mindset — ensuring operational changes consider downstream impact on service levels and customer experience.

Required

What you'll need to be successful.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • 3+ years of project management experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution operations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent (CAPM, Prince2, Agile/Scrum).
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects with budgets of $1M+.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project); advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills: cost-benefit analysis, ROI modeling, data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present to senior leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%.

Preferred

  • Experience with SAP IBP/APO, S/4HANA, or equivalent ERP/supply chain planning systems.
  • Working knowledge of E2Open TMS (formerly BluJay), Manhattan WMS, or comparable Transportation/Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Power BI or Tableau experience for project reporting and performance dashboards.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or cold chain/refrigerated distribution environments.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Background in 3PL management, contract logistics, or distribution center startups.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Supply Chain Operations: warehousing, transportation, inventory management, demand planning
  • Risk Management & Mitigation Planning
  • Vendor & Third-Party Partner Management
