As the Investment Operations Analyst, based in Vancouver, you will make a positive contribution through the execution and reporting of investment transactions and records. Each day, this multi-faceted opportunity will keep you on your toes with value-add investment reporting, administration and analysis.

Here’s How

Investment Administration:


  • Facilitate the trading and accounting of portfolio transactions of the equity derivatives portfolios and mortgage financing portfolios
  • Facilitate the governance and internal controls processes with reconciliations of the various investment portfolios
  • Investigate with external and internal stakeholders including investment managers, auditors, and custodians to ensure accuracy in the recording of investment transactions and assets
  • Respond to ad hoc queries on investment transactions, accounting and fees
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual investment reporting for the various stakeholders
  • Assist with special projects as needed


Investment Management & Analysis:


  • Assist with analytics and monitoring of the various investment portfolios in the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension plans
  • Ensure investments are compliant with investment guidelines


Qualifications

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills to successfully communicate with external and internal stakeholders
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to set objectives and goals, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks
  • Interest in learning and improving processes for operational efficiencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets), Word, and PowerPoint
  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline
  • Interest in investment management and at least 2 years of relevant experience is an asset


Great-to-haves


  • Working towards or completion of a professional designation (CFA, CPA)
  • Understanding of investment analysis and valuation
  • Experience in investment accounting and governance practices
  • Experience in investment transaction processing
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and other financial information systems
