Job Overview

Our client is located in Midtown Toronto. We are looking for a real estate lawyer with residential and commercial real estate experience to join the team and support the firm's growing Real Estate and Wills/Estate practice.

Duties and Responsibility

  • Handing all aspect of real estate transactions
  • Review complex loan commitments and documents
  • Assist with overflow real estate files
  • Liaise with clients, lawyers, and brokers
  • Order and negotiate title insurance policies
  • Attend to closings, reviewing title searches, registering transactions and documents on Teraview, meeting with clients to review documentation, prepare reporting letters, and preparing other transactional documents
  • Supervise and assist junior and senior law clerks handling high volume of residential and refinance, purchase and sale transactions Keeping track of dates
  • Draft Wills, POAs, and estate planning documents
  • Assist with probate and estate administration

Requirements

  • Are licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • An LL.B. or J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Residential/Commercial Real Estate law.
  • Estate Planning and Administration experience is a bonus
  • Strong research and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients
  • Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage your own files
  • Want to work in a positive, team-first environment
