Your Opportunity to Make an Impact
As PSHSA advances its mission to support safer, healthier workplaces, the Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting plays a vital leadership role in ensuring the organization’s financial integrity, audit confidence, and government funding compliance.
This role provides enterprise-level accountability for financial reporting, internal controls, and audit outcomes, while supporting informed decision-making at the senior leadership and Board levels. In delivering this impact, the Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting is accountable for the following core responsibilities:
- Provide oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring accuracy, appropriate controls, and compliance with approved financial policies and funding requirements.
- Accountable for the integrity of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Lead the external audit relationship and deliver clean, timely audit outcomes
- Provide oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Ensure alignment between financial planning, funding requirements, and organizational priorities
- Design and approve internal controls over financial reporting
- Provide governance oversight of financial systems and reporting architecture
- Partner with IT and finance leadership on system strategy, upgrades, and automation
- Monitor operational KPIs and resolve escalated accounting issues
- Ensure accounting operations align with approved policies and funding requirements
- Set performance expectations and support professional development of staff
- Prepare and review materials for the Audit & Finance Committee and Board
- Provide trusted financial advice to the CEO/COO and internal leaders
Your Strengths & Experience
- CPA designation required
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including audit accountability
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, internal controls, and funding compliance
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams in complex environments
- Advanced ERP experience (Sage Intacct strongly preferred)
- Sound professional judgment, strong communication skills, and a stewardship mindset
