About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing the use and understanding of machine learning across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, deploy, and maintain scalable machine learning architectures and frameworks that enhance our data products and enable data-driven decision making. You will work on building robust data processing pipelines, optimizing machine learning models for performance, and implementing monitoring solutions to ensure the health and efficiency of ML systems. Additionally, you will design prototypes leveraging advanced ML algorithms such as recommendation systems, natural language processing, deep learning, and Bayesian statistics. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence product features, improve analytical capabilities, and contribute to innovative solutions that impact millions of shoppers and retail partners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Scala, Spark, Python, and related big data technologies
• Experience with distributed computing and constructing scalable data architectures using tools like Airflow and Databricks
• Strong knowledge of standard machine learning techniques and algorithms
• Experience deploying ML models in production following backend software engineering best practices
• Ability to lead projects independently from initiation to completion
• Proven expertise in at least one of the following areas:
• Recommendation systems (filtering, personalization, deep learning, embeddings)
• Language understanding (text representation, NLP, large language models, semantic extraction)
• MLOps platforms (model lifecycle management, deployment, monitoring)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project management
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data processing pipelines and machine learning model deployment infrastructure
• Continuously improve ML frameworks to standardize and automate data processing and model deployment processes
• Implement monitoring solutions to track the health and performance of ML data pipelines, proactively resolving issues
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of ML data pipelines to meet SLAs and scalability requirements
• Build and maintain key ML solutions that enhance product features and support data-driven decision making
• Design and develop prototypes leveraging advanced ML algorithms including recommendation systems, NLP, deep learning, and Bayesian methods
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML models into production environments effectively
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and data science to continually improve solutions
