What You’ll Do

The Senior Loan Processor plays a pivotal role in delivering a smooth and efficient loan experience from submission to close. This role requires a deep understanding of mortgage programs, compliance rules, and operational excellence. Senior Processors are also expected to serve as mentors within their team by modeling best practices, supporting new processors, and ensuring the team upholds UMortgage standards for quality and service.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently process and clear loan conditions with accuracy, urgency, and accountability.
  • Submit files to lender portals promptly with complete and accurate data entry.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of loan products, investor guidelines, and documentation standards (FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, DPA, Non-QM, and Jumbo).
  • Ensure compliance with TRID, disclosure requirements, and all regulatory standards.
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external partners, including but not limited to Loan Officers, Underwriters, Branch Managers, Realtors, Title companies, attorneys, borrowers, and HOI agents.
  • Monitor and manage critical timelines such as closing dates, contingencies, and rate lock expirations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pipeline with full visibility for partners and leaders.
  • Meet or exceed SLAs for all processing milestones.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Processing, and Closing teams to ensure a seamless borrower experience.
  • Facilitate mentorship for new processors and serve as a go-to resource for problem-solving, systems guidance, and lender best practices.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and share feedback to improve efficiency and borrower experience.
  • Embody UMortgage’s core values and contribute to a culture of excellence, ownership, and teamwork.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as needed based on business priorities.

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of recent mortgage processing experience
  • Proven experience with multiple loan programs and investor types
  • Proficiency in mortgage origination software (Arive, Encompass, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of compliance and disclosure regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large pipeline independently
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational discipline

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners. The role may be performed in a hybrid or remote capacity depending on business needs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use are common.
