We are currently looking for a Product Manager for a 100% remote position supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The selected candidate will define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals. This role will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of product initiatives, collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions that enhance the Veteran experience.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business units and technical stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the delivery of product initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring clear definition and acceptance criteria for features and user stories.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and leadership to align priorities and manage expectations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to product stability, security, and delivery timelines.
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product adoption, reliability, and business impact.
  • Drive ongoing product improvements based on user feedback, analytics, and emerging technology trends.
  • Ensure product compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee documentation of product features, processes, and technical specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of product managers to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or IT project management, preferably with API platforms or integration technologies.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex IT products or projects in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, and API management tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience managing and leading teams in cross-functional environments.
  • Proficiency in backlog management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Additional Qualifications

  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization standards such as OAuth and JWT.
  • Experience implementing complex API solutions for federal health clients.
  • Experience delivering high-availability and secure enterprise systems.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Department of Veterans Affairs programs, policies, and systems with an emphasis on client-facing technology solutions.
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise or federal environments.
