We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing billing operations, ensuring accurate invoicing, and providing excellent customer service to our clients. The ideal candidate will be skilled in billing software, have a strong understanding of accounting practices, and be comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate, review, and send invoices to clients on a regular schedule.
  • Track payments and apply them to customer accounts.
  • Handle inquiries from clients regarding billing issues or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate billing records.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant billing regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed billing reports and documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with clients when necessary.
  • Provide support to clients with billing concerns, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on industry billing best practices and regulations.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in billing, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in billing software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working remotely.
  • Familiarity with health insurance billing or other specialized billing processes.
  • Previous experience in customer service or client relations.
