Position: News Analyst, Reporter, Journalist

Type: Independent Contractor

Compensation: $75–$90/hour

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 weeks

Commitment: 20–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Write tasks and scenarios reflecting real-world journalism and news reporting based on professional experience.
  • Create realistic situations involving news gathering, source verification, investigative reporting, editorial decision-making, and deadline management.
  • Develop scenarios for conducting interviews, fact-checking, writing breaking news, analyzing current events, handling ethical dilemmas, maintaining journalistic integrity, and editing content for publication.
  • Review and evaluate AI responses to journalism queries for accuracy and professional standards.
  • Provide detailed feedback on news reporting and journalism scenarios to improve AI training.
  • Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 4+ years professional experience as a news analyst, reporter, journalist, or correspondent in media organizations.
  • Demonstrated professional recognition and management responsibilities.
  • Proficient with using computers and navigating various software systems.
  • Excellent written communication with strong grammar and spelling skills.
  • Pass video interview, background check, training, and qualification quiz.

Preferred

  • 14 years experience preferred.

Start Date

  • Immediately

Compensation & Legal

  • Hourly compensation, paid weekly via Stripe Connect.
  • Payments based on services rendered; contractors maintain full control over their work schedule and methods.
