Position Title: Patient Care Advocate Department: Patient Care Reports To: Patient Care Team Lead FLSA: Non-Exempt Position Summary: The Patient Care Advocate ensures exceptional service to patients by providing education, communication, and financial coordination throughout their care journey. This role requires strong customer service skills with a focus on compliance, professionalism, and patient satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare, accounts receivable, or customer service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide professional communication to patients through various channels, ensuring accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.
- Educate patients about upcoming surgeries, their rights under the No Surprise Act, and financial responsibilities.
- Resolve patient inquiries, process payment arrangements, and validate account balances, escalating issues when necessary.
- Conduct monthly audits for patient statement submissions and handle patient complaints regarding services or billing.
- Engage in patient-related activities, such as recovering insurance checks sent in error and performing skip tracing for contact verification.
- Collaborate with colleagues for seamless communication and care coordination while meeting performance targets.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
