Our learners come from diverse backgrounds and are working to improve their literacy for daily life, employment, and community participation.

This is a great opportunity for those who are empathetic, patient, and encouraging—and who enjoy helping others succeed step by step.

As a Tutor, You Will:

  • Practice language and literacy skills based on learner goals

  • Communicate learner progress to the NOAL team

What We Provide:

  • Reference letters available upon request

Seasonal Commitment Options:

Fall: October to mid-December

  • Interested in working online
  • Able to commit to a weekly 1-hour tutoring session
  • Patient and passionate about supporting adult learners
  • Excited to develop your tutoring and facilitation skills
  • Open to learning alongside your learner
  • Able to foster a safe, respectful learning environment
  • Comfortable receiving constructive feedback
  • Have access to a computer and stable internet connection
  • Familiar with using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet
