Description
What you’ll be doing
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Tech Mate: Provide one-on-one tech support to someone with sight loss—help them set up smartphones, navigate apps, or use accessibility features. Training and assignments are provided based on your availability.
- Driver: Use your own vehicle or a rental car to drive CNIB staff with sight loss to meetings and outreach events across Nova Scotia. Mileage, hotel, and meals are covered during longer trips. A great option for retirees
- Weekly Caller (Remote): Call CNIB clients once a week to share upcoming events and record RSVPs. This role helps keep our community informed and connected, and often builds lasting relationships.
- Puppy Raiser or Boarder: Be part of someone’s journey to independence by raising a future guide dog in your home. You can help for a weekend (Puppy Boarder), a few months (Starter/Finisher), or a full year. No prior dog experience needed—just patience and love.
