PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $230,000 - $310,000 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Impact You'll Make

As the Vice President, Strategic Support reporting to the EVP/Chief Member Experience Officer at BECU, you will lead and influence key management processes and change initiatives, facilitating positive change across the core member-facing functions and businesses of the organization. By closely collaborating with business leaders and key partners, you will ensure alignment, coordination, and integration of each line of business’s strategies, priorities, and resources. This position is responsible for supporting senior leaders on key activities including the development of new business opportunities and/or lines of business, division communications, operational risk management, and strategic planning. What You'll Do

  • Strategic Roadmap Execution: Work across the credit union with key business owners and stakeholders to establish and facilitate the execution of the strategic roadmap for a portfolio of key business initiatives and projects including member insights and Voice of Member programs.
  • Divisional Leadership Meetings and Risk Management: Facilitate ongoing leadership meetings to ensure integration and alignment of business growth initiatives/opportunities, performance trends, best practices, and other issues affecting the business. Develop a division-wide operational risk management framework and coordinate/oversee division-wide operational risk management activities.
  • Divisional Strategic Planning: Facilitate the division-wide strategic planning and budgeting processes, as part of the senior leadership team, that includes quarterly and annual planning routines. Provide thought leadership and leadership for cross-functional credit union and/or division business development initiatives, including organic, partnerships, alliances, and M&A growth strategies.
  • Divisional Communication and Workspace Planning: Develop board and senior executive-level communication tools and processes, including ongoing business results and initiative updates. In partnership with Facilities, develop and maintain a division-wide office/workspace site planning strategy.
  • Divisional Management and Communication Practice: Develop, plan, and coordinate key divisional management processes, including business reviews, senior leader meetings, employee recognition and communication process to ensure employees understand the division’s goals, strategic goals, initiatives, projects, and programs.
  • Member Experience Analysis and Integration: Analyze internal data and external market information to identify opportunities to improve the member experience and develop recommendations for potential new business opportunities and/or lines of business. Lead initiatives to define and deploy a Voice of Member program and evaluate opportunities for cross-departmental integration and alignment of common functional activities.
  • Operational Improvement and Optimization: Consult with executives, directors, and managers to identify operational improvement and optimization opportunities, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of processes, workflows, and technology/systems improvement initiatives for the division.
  • Governance and Compliance: Serve on key BECU governance committees, representing the division senior leaders as necessary. Ensure the business unit complies with all applicable credit union policies and government regulations and lead the creation/maintenance of the business unit’s process workflows and procedure documentation. Partner with the ERM and Audit to coordinate annual audit, exam and credit review processes, and support senior leaders on issue tracking and resolution.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, and/or equivalent experience
  • Typically ten years of leadership experience highly collaborative work environment.
  • Typically five years of experience developing and/or facilitating the development of business strategy/business plans required.
  • This job is remote or hybrid but requires you to reside in one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, California, North Carolina or Virginia.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% - 20%.

  • Experience in Financial Services.
  • Experience leading simultaneous, cross-divisional initiatives and programs.
  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to produce meaningful metrics that drive and/or demonstrate ongoing improvements.
  • Outstanding organization, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in a senior level in strategy & planning role or equivalent at a large-scale financial services organization or financial services consulting firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish deep relationships, influence stakeholders, and gain consensus on solutions.
  • Ability to identify, develop and cultivate adoption of new business solutions and strategies.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgement in problem solving.
  • Excellent planning skills in both tactical and strategic planning.
