The Medical Records Retrieval Representative (Risk Adjustment Representative 2) conducts quality assurance audits of medical records and ICD-9/10 diagnosis codes that are submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other government agencies. The Risk Adjustment Representative 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

Responsibilities
Be a part of our team- provide services that connect people with lifelong well-being. Associate’s main focus is retrieving medical records from providers offices and working with health systems in the Little Rock, AR area to obtain medical records through secure systems. The records are reviewed by Humana's Coding staff.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

Responsibilities
Be a part of our team- provide services that connect people with lifelong well-being. Associate’s main focus is retrieving medical records from providers offices and working with health systems in the Little Rock, AR area to obtain medical records through secure systems. The records are reviewed by Humana's Coding staff.
- Build relationships with provider office contacts
- Assist with other administrative tasks and projects as required by leadership
- Travel when necessary to assist with retrieval at provider offices that will consist of driving to locations close to your home, as well as driving to locations that require overnight travel for up to a week at a time
- Use a laptop computer, thumb drive and a portable scanner to retrieve medical records which will be uploaded into a database
Use your skills to make an impact
- 1+ years of medical records experience
- 1+ years of administrative support in a medical office/healthcare setting
- Must have reliable transportation
- This role is part of Humana's driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and are expected to maintain personal vehicle liability insurance. Individual must carry vehicle insurance in accordance with their residing state minimum required limits, or $25,000 bodily injury per person/$25,000 bodily injury per event /$10,000 for property damage or whichever is higher
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of computers, or a demonstrated technical aptitude and an ability to quickly learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Ability to travel locally up to 75% of the time throughout the Little Rock, AR area
- Candidate should live within the Little Rock, AR and surrounding areas
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally
- Medical billing and coding experience (i.e. ICD-10 codes)
- Knowledge and experience in health care environment/managed care
- Critical thinking
- Health Insurance experience
- EMR- Electronic Medical Record experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and/or ICD-10 codes
Work At Home / Internet Guidance:
To Ensure Home Or Hybrid Home/Office Employees’ Ability To Work Effectively, The Self-provided Internet Service Of Home Or Hybrid Home/Office Employees Must Meet The Following Criteria
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
