The BIM Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the development, management, and coordination of Building Information Models (BIM) across multiple projects. You’ll work closely with design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction teams to ensure models are accurate, aligned with standards, and optimized for robotic fabrication and field execution.

The BIM Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the development, management, and coordination of Building Information Models (BIM) across multiple projects. You’ll work closely with design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction teams to ensure models are accurate, aligned with standards, and optimized for robotic fabrication and field execution.

What you'll do:
- Develop, manage, and coordinate project-specific BIM models throughout the design, fabrication, and construction lifecycle.
- Coordinate with offshore modelling team(s) to ensure client and/or project specific specifications are met
- Ensure compliance with company and industry BIM standards, workflows, and data structures.
- Ensure designs meet or exceed the building code requirements. Interpret and implement building code changes, as required.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, trades, and internal teams to resolve model conflicts and ensure accuracy.
- Participate in engineering development meetings. Implement approved changes in the BIM workflows and modeling software as required. Initiate software updates of CAD, CAM and production software as required.
- Prepare clash detection reports, conduct model audits, and lead coordination meetings.
- Assist in developing and implementing innovative BIM workflows, templates, and content libraries.
- Support integration of BIM with robotics workflows, manufacturing, and prefabrication processes.
- Provide technical support for BIM software, including Revit and related applications.
- Provide end user-related feedback for custom Revit add-ins for ongoing software development
- Coordinate with architectural drafters, floor and roof truss designers, production department, estimating, construction, plumbing, HVAC and electrical trades as well as affected departments for feedback on design, manufacturing and construction issues.
- Manage and update models and design data and ensure the required data is available to fabrication and construction teams.
- Ensure job specific production drawings are accurate and completed in a timely manner based on production schedule and construction requirements.
- Interpret information packages from customers; recognize errors, omissions and deficiencies and pursue further clarification as required.
- Participate in client presentations / coordination meetings in the form of 3D digital walkthroughs
- Architectural Technology Diploma, Structural Design Diploma or Architectural Degree required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of professional Autodesk product use and support (specifically Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Experience with Wood Framing programs such as MWF and/or AGACAD is an asset.
- Experience in designing single family and/or multi-family residential projects.
- Knowledge of new home construction with an understanding of the fundamentals of residential wood frame construction practices, techniques, and conventions.
- Knowledge of building codes.
- Experience with structural design software such as Javelin and/or Mitek is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience of BIM implementation in the AEC industry is an asset.
- Ability to solve abstract problems and propose solutions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and ensuring deadline adherence.
