About Inspiration Commerce Group (ICG)

We’re a team of ~25 people who’ve done 6 acquisitions in 18 months and scaled from $0 to >$75M in revenue. We’re a global group with businesses across the US, UK, and EU. We buy and build companies that help people find and buy the products they love. Our portfolio includes leading fashion marketplaces like Italist and Verishop, affiliate marketing platforms like Stylight and MyBestBrands, B2B technology solutions like Bonsai and leading Creator marketplaces like Everpress.

About The Role

We’re looking for someone to join us as a Business Operations Associate/Specialist/Analyst (the title isn't a big deal to us). We have a lot of bold ideas and big changes to make across our businesses — in this role you'll help to execute on those ideas and take them from concept to reality. This is not a "Strategy" role; the focus is on execution, delivery and driving results. We are looking for someone who is excited about building, shipping and moving fast.

Things You'll Work On

This isn’t about building decks or presenting findings. It’s about thinking like a founder, acting like a hacker, and executing like an operator. Some examples of things you'll work on:

  • Launching new revenue streams that we want to pilot within the business. This will mean building landing pages, cross-selling the new offering to existing B2B customers, setting up the processes for us to deliver and then making sure our invoicing/collections is in place to recognize the revenue. You should be comfortable jumping into the unknown to tackle these things yourself.
  • Analyzing regional data for our marketplaces to understand where we should double-down and invest further vs. where we're not operating profitably. Find the data, pull it together, view it through the context if our business and then recommend a plan of action. You might deliver on this yourself, or it may be handed off to another team member to own.
  • Optimize our existing processes and systems using AI and first-principles thinking. This could mean moving us onto a new tool for Sales Tax Calculations (finding the tool, migrating all of our data, and implementing it within a business), simplifying the sales/contract process for a B2B business, or setting up playbooks for manual work that we can then run with AI agents or remote virtual assistants.
  • Support our internal team in doing their best work. Whether it's helping to process payroll and expense reports, covering for a colleague in Sales or Marketing while they're on holidays, or coordinating our Weekly Business Review meetings, you'll drive efficiency internally and jump in wherever we need an extra set of hands.

Attitudes

We don't care what your current job title is, how long you've been working, or whether you have an MBA. We do care about you being tightly aligned with our operating principles:

  • You’re competitive and love to win. You’re competitive and are always looking for an edge. You have a high bar (some would say “unrealistic”) for yourself and those you work with.
  • You do whatever it takes. You’re willing to do what others won’t to achieve what others can’t. What we’re doing is hard. Really hard. Sacrifices are required in the pursuit of greatness, and we’re chasing greatness.
  • Founder-level ownership. If something breaks, you fix it. If there’s an opportunity, you chase it. You (and we) never say "that's not my job".
  • Curiosity with teeth. You don’t just ask why something isn’t working — you dig until you know, then you ship a fix.
  • Speed over polish. You’d rather launch 10 experiments and kill 7 than waste time making 1 perfect.
  • You ask for forgiveness, not permission.
  • You’re a self-starter. You love being in the weeds and rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You never let roadblocks get in the way of getting things done; the laws of physics alone dictate what you can do.
  • You have excellent analytical skills. The term ‘quantitative rigour’ gets you excited. You love using data to help identify problems, discover opportunities, and substantiate your ideas.

Who This Role Is Right For

  • Someone who finds joy in solving a wide variety of hard problems
  • Someone who can pull & analyze their own data (write SQL or figure out how, pivot tables, VLookups and rigorous analyses) vs. waiting on someone else to pull it for them
  • Someone who thrives in chaos: throw you a new challenge on Friday, and you’ll know by Monday what you want to do and how you want to do it
  • Someone who spends their time outside of work vibe-coding new projects, pursuing entrepreneurship or going deep on things they're passionate about
  • Someone who is comfortable working on Sales/Account Management one day and FP&A/Dashboarding the next.

Who this role is not right for

  • People who want a stable, predictable or repetitive role/set of tasks
  • People looking for active mentorship (i.e. you'd rather have someone tell you exactly what to do vs. figure it out on your own)
  • People who are excited about building and managing a team vs handing the details themselves
  • People who find comfort in following a playbook
  • People who don’t want to be in the weeds, spending hours querying a database and slicing the data to find new insights and hypotheses to test
  • People who prefer stability over speed or “strategy over execution”

Logistics/Next Steps

  • Process: everyone will hear back within 3 days of applying. Our process involves calls with Brett (COO), Andrew (CEO), Corah (Product) and 1 other member of our team. You'll also complete 1-day working session (paid, on-site in Toronto, if you're outside of Toronto we'll fly you in).
  • Work Setup: we operate Remote-first with some time spent In-Person together throughout the year as needed.
  • Working Hours: we trust team members to manage their own schedules and believe that taking time off to recharge makes you more productive in the long run. That said, we’re early enough that everyone’s work makes a big difference on the company’s trajectory. As a result, our team finds hard work fulfilling when we know it will be impactful. Typically, we check out around 6pm to protect personal time and then log back in later at night to finish anything that was left undone.
