What You Will Do

The Underwriting Assistant (AB) is responsible for providing administrative support to the Long-Haul Trucking Underwriting team.

• Ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached

• Verification of insurance certificates issued by our brokers.

• Communicate directly with brokers to track current quote requests.

• Assist underwriters with the pre-selection of quotes and summarize basic exposures.

• Completion of worksheets

• Gather and review information for monthly activity reports

• Review, prepare, create, request and send incoming and outgoing mail, reports and forms

• Other assigned duties, including managing the team's inbox



Who You Are

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or currently holds or working towards CIP would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently
  • Strong time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail in a highly structured environment
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
