Role Overview
We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager – Partnerships to build and manage strategic relationships with Digital Intellectual Property (IP) owners and AI labs. This role blends program management, partnerships, and technical/IP diligence—ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, business, and legal deal-making.
You’ll own Digital Intellectual Property (IP) acquisition and licensing deals from start to finish: sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, legal due diligence, and execution. Over time, you’ll build a scalable playbook and portfolio that drives recurring deal flow and long-term value for Pareto and our clients.

Role Overview
We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager – Partnerships to build and manage strategic relationships with Digital Intellectual Property (IP) owners and AI labs. This role blends program management, partnerships, and technical/IP diligence—ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, business, and legal deal-making.
You’ll own Digital Intellectual Property (IP) acquisition and licensing deals from start to finish: sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, legal due diligence, and execution. Over time, you’ll build a scalable playbook and portfolio that drives recurring deal flow and long-term value for Pareto and our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, engage, and manage relationships with IP owners.
- Act as intermediary between IP owners and AI labs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI).
- Coordinate legal/IP due diligence and contracts (MNDA, content evaluation, IP transfer).
- Negotiate commercial terms and deal structures.
- Oversee technical digital IP evaluation (metadata, samples, quality checks).
- Manage timelines and stakeholder communication across Pareto, IP owners, and labs.
- Build repeatable playbooks for IP acquisition and licensing.
- Outreach and relationship management with IP owners.
- Running IP evaluations (collecting metadata, code samples).
- Coordinating legal documentation and due diligence.
- Negotiating pricing and deal terms.
- Internal reporting and alignment with Pareto + client stakeholders.
- Digital IP sourcing and acquisition pipeline.
- AI lab partnerships (training & benchmarking content).
- Commercial expansion (multi-lab licensing, portfolio building).
Short-term (0–6 months):
- Close 2–3 acquisition/licensing deals.
- Create a playbook for repeatable deal execution.
- Build a scalable acquisition pipeline.
- Manage a portfolio of assets generating revenue from multiple AI labs.
- Familiarity with GitHub/Git workflows
- Understanding of IP/licensing models (open source vs proprietary).
- Strong deal negotiation and contract management skills.
- 3–7+ years in business development, partnerships, program management, product management, or technical program management, ideally with exposure to software/IP transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Computer Science, Law, or related). Equivalent experience acceptable.
- Industry experience in SaaS, dev tools, AI/ML, or open-source ecosystems preferred.
- Prior experience with IP transfers, M&A, or licensing agreements.
- Network in OSS or AI developer communities.
- Exposure to AI training/benchmarking workflows.
- Experience in technical diligence for software/codebases.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution ability.
- High attention to detail, especially with legal/contract work.
- Work directly with top AI labs (Anthropic, Google Deepmind, Amazon,OpenAI, Cognition, etc.) on strategic IP acquisitions.
- Help shape a new category at the intersection of AI training + OSS/IP deal-making.
- Direct impact on Pareto’s growth by building our acquisition/licensing pipeline.
