Member Services Coordinator

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (“ATIO”) is dedicated to the support and representation of Translators and Interpreters across the province. This is a key role for most aspects of society and impacts people in all aspects of life. This role is focused on supporting professionals in the language industry to become a member of ATIO and work towards certification. In this role you will see individuals go from applicants to members and help them along their journey.


Responsibilities:


Member Services:

  • Assist language professionals looking to join ATIO by answering their inquiries and helping them through the admission process;
  • Assist affiliate members looking to join ATIO by mutual recognition agreement;
  • Review and assess all applications;
  • Keep track of invoice payment and process deadlines;
  • Create and send welcome packages to newly certified members;
  • Manage and assist current members needing attestation letters, information on benefits, updates to their profiles;
  • Handle membership annual renewal process from start to completion (prepare renewal notices, help members process payment, manage late renewals and lapsed accounts);
  • Deliver statistic reports on member enrolment and retention


On-Dossier Certification

  • Coordinate feedback to candidates and members to address RCC questions and concerns
  • Identify qualified external evaluators to assess translation samples for rare languages
  • Keeping track of the status of each application and touching base with RCC members and external evaluators to finalize the tasks;
  • Handle any appeals/complaints and coordinating with the President to deliver the final results


Skills & Knowledge

  • Must have strong fluency in written and spoken French and English
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to use technology to manage the database and reporting.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively with external suppliers.
  • Be team focused, willing to work collaboratively with all team members.
