JOB SUMMARY: The Product Owner is a detail-oriented and customer-focused leader responsible for defining feature requirements, prioritizing the product backlog, creating and communicating the roadmap for agile teams, and ensuring the development team delivers high-quality features that align with business goals and customer needs.

Job Roles And Responsibilities

  • Create and articulate the vision and Roadmap for agile teams, garnering consensus across Operations, Technology and Product Management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable features.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer to the technology delivery team, ensuring the product delivers a great user experience.
  • Define and maintain a well-prioritized, groomed product backlog based on business value, customer feedback, and alignment with business goals.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure understanding of requirements and timely delivery of features.
  • Continuously refine and adjust the backlog based on feedback, data, and changing priorities.
  • Analyze product performance and user feedback to inform future development.

  • Working with other product owners to resolve dependencies and negotiate, coordinate, and align priorities to complete a feature
  • Work with the Technical Lead/Architect to understand technical work and ensure the roadmap and backlog is planned with technical concerns in mind
  • Work with Product Managers, Agile Program Manager's (aka Release Train Engineers) and Domain Architects to create a prioritized Product/Program Backlog for all development work related to the Product.
  • Work with Business Analysts and Agile Scrum Teams to break down big Features into User Stories on the Team backlog for the Agile team to design, build, test and deliver.
  • Act as the content authority to make sure the Agile Team delivers the right solution at the right time.
  • Attend and actively participate in Program level Agile Events such as PI Planning, to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
  • Support training development for end users and staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Company's core values.

JOB SCOPE: Incumbent works under minimal direction and uses independent judgment to identify issues, trends & problems and recommend action plans and evaluate results on initiatives that may not be clearly defined and are large in scope. Work is varied and complex, requiring the individual to use a broad range of knowledge gained through experience. The position works with internal and external sources to complete objectives, keeping the needs of external and internal customers as a priority when making decisions and taking action. Scope of Product Owner's responsibility will be defined to a specific product or feature area, and will product vision will be defined in alignment with senior leadership's product strategy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, And Training)

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree, or HS Diploma and 4 years of related experience. Graduate degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of agile Associate Product Owner experience or 7 years' experience in analysis and design on software development initiatives in analyst role (preferably within a Scrum Agile team)
  • Deep understanding of Agile Scrum, Lean, Kanban or SAFe methodologies, PI Planning, and product development lifecycle. Experience in customer journey mapping, requirements gathering, and management practices such as BDD
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha!, or similar
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and solving challenges
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, including the ability to present ideas clearly and respond to inquiries effectively.
  • Experience developing Product vision and Roadmaps and communicating these to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Healthcare industry and understanding all major workflows associated with the healthcare claim processing is beneficial
  • Product Owner certification preferred. International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certifications, AAC, CBAP or CCBA preferred
  • Knowledge of modelling tools such as Miro, Visio, Lucidcharts, Draw.io preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with distributed (offshore and remote) teams
  • Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate across multiple teams or departments.
  • Skilled in building positive working relationships across various levels and functions.
  • Effective at fostering trust and rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Dedicated to delivering high-quality service and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Strategic thinker who understands broader business goals and takes initiative to drive value.

The salary range for this position is [SALARY RANGE]. Specific offers take into account a candidate's education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate's work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
