CNO Financial Group is hiring a Business Analyst, Legal to maintain responsibility for organizing, designing, and/or maintaining statutory reporting requirements within the Regulatory Strategy and Reporting team. This position will lead both ad-hoc and ongoing data analysis requests under direct supervision and will be responsible for turning data into user-friendly reports and visuals. Deliverables will support both individual management and/or the entire team. The Business Analyst, Legal will also provide project and organizational support as needed. This role will gain exposure to other data initiatives within the Law Department.

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.
All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically.
Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

As a Business Analyst, Legal, your responsibilities will include:
- Analysis and reporting done through Microsoft Excel, with occasions to present more formal summaries in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint as needed.
- Maintains the regulatory reporting tracker and effectively work with business partners to gather, review and perform first level validation of information for report submissions.
- Facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual requests from reinsurers for reporting needs.
- Research and respond to inquiries from Departments of Insurance as assigned by management.
- Summarize lengthy reports for all lines of business monthly, quarterly, or annually as required.
- Initial review of complex analysis performed by other team members by serving as second set of eyes on high visibility projects, such as the Market Conduct Annual Statement (MCAS).
- Support senior team members in intensive technical analysis, including partnership with Legal Data & Intelligence Consultant on market conduct data calls or other internal data analyses.
- Experience in designing and maintaining reports in Excel.
- Intermediate Excel skills such as vlookups, pivot tables, etc.
- Self-starter who is comfortable in an agile environment.
- High level of professionalism – especially in verbal and written communication.
- Seeks guidance and direction from others as needed; checks understanding with peers.
- Ability to take direction from peers and managers in order to perform initial analyses autonomously; easily accepts additional direction and constructive feedback when work product is reviewed.
- Detail-oriented, methodical in problem solving approaches, and able to quickly learn and adopt organizational processes.
- Produce and participate in the requirements gathering, design, and implementation of analytical deliverables for multi-state reporting efforts.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting procedures, including NAIC SERFF system; ability to navigate through individual state portals.
- Ability to build relationships with business partners, external partners, key stakeholder and team members.
- Bachelor’s Degree. In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, 8 years equivalent experience would be substitute.
- 1 year of related work experience.
- Intermediate Excel skills such as vlookups, pivot tables, etc.
- Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, or other related field
- One or more of the following certifications: ACS, ALMI, FLMI
- 3+ years of related work experience
