At Field Effect, we’re on a mission to make the digital world safer. Our success depends on more than great technology; it requires a strong financial foundation that enables smart growth, sound decision-making, and global scalability. We’re looking for a Director of Finance to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of our company’s financial health and strategy.

What You’ll Do:

As the Director of Finance reporting to the CFO, you’ll lead and oversee Field Effect’s financial operations, ensuring our systems, reporting, and processes can support a growing global business. You’ll be a trusted partner to the CFO and leadership team, guiding financial planning, compliance, and risk management while developing a high-performing finance team. You’ll also dive into the details; supporting the monthly close with a sharp eye for accuracy and ensuring our books are impeccable. In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the company’s financial systems can successfully support the demands of all business units while managing financial risk.
  • Create and monitor internal controls related to financial and operational matters.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial results and success metrics, while coaching internal users to interpret and act on metrics.
  • Participate in the development of the company’s financial and strategic plans.
  • Provide leadership, support, and coaching to the finance team, embedding best practices to deliver on goals.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on the annual and monthly budget and forecast process.
  • Take an active role in the monthly close and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail—happy to lead a thorough review of reconciliations and perform analysis to get things right.
  • Lead or represent financial stakeholder interests on internal projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
  • Support the Controller in oversight of the audit process, coordinating deliverables with auditors (including statutory audits in foreign jurisdictions and occasional tax audits).
  • Provide oversight into the Treasury management process and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide risk awareness to the CFO, particularly regarding contracts that could significantly impact financial health.
  • Ensure financial compliance internationally, including local payroll and corporate tax requirements and transfer pricing policies.
  • Manage the process of filing all tax returns across required jurisdictions.
  • Maintain relationships with tax authorities and credit card service providers in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Act as the voice of the CFO on urgent matters as required.
  • Assess the performance of internal operating systems and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure finance staff are adequately trained for their reporting responsibilities.

Experience and Skills We Look For:

  • Proven experience in finance leadership roles, ideally within a scaling technology or multinational company.
  • Professional accounting designation, CPA or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of international accounting standards, tax compliance, and audit processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and oversee financial systems and controls in complex organizations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to engage directly in the monthly close process.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial insights into business impact.

Why Join Us:

  • Be part of a company creating real impact for businesses by solving meaningful cybersecurity challenges.
  • Own your work without red tape.
  • Collaborate with talented, humble teammates and learn from industry‑leading cybersecurity experts.
  • Operate with autonomy and accountability in a high trust, delivery focused environment.
  • Work flexibly in ways that fit your life and help you perform at your best, with benefits and rewards that matter.

If this sounds exciting, we would love to hear from you! Please note that only the candidate(s) selected for the next phase of the hiring process will be contacted directly.
