What We Do

Rillet serves finance teams. Our customers are the financial brains of their companies. Our job is to help them run the numbers with impossible speed, accuracy, and insight.

Today, we do that with powerful and elegant accounting software. Our product earns a consistently perfect customer satisfaction score. Our insane ship velocity is great for high-growth AI companies, because our customers like Decagon, Windsurf, and Postscript need their financial stack to evolve as quickly as their products do.

This huge market is ours to take. We have raised $100M from leading investors (including Sequoia, a16z, Iconiq, Oak HC/FT, and First Round) to help everyone run their numbers at the speed of AI.

Who We Are

Rillet’s pace is not for everyone. Intelligence is table stakes. To succeed here, you need extreme speed, agency, and flexibility.

Successful Rilleteers do not wait for assignments. They internalize a mission, design a strategy, and bring back results that are better, faster, and more creative than a manager could have asked for.

Work revolves around our customers. Successful Rilleteers are energized by delivering the most important things, even those that weren’t in the original plan.

In this role, you do not need to be an accountant. But you do need to appreciate the value that our customer can create for their own company when we equip them with the perfect financial tools. Successful Rilleteers love powering the financial core of the world’s fastest-growing companies.

Who We Need

As a Founding People Operations Lead, you will establish and scale our people function from the ground up. This is a critical founding role that will shape our organizational culture, build essential HR infrastructure, and create the systems that will support our team as we grow. You will thrive in ambiguity and excel at identifying the highest-impact priorities needed to scale our organization effectively. You will have a significant impact on every aspect of our employee experience, from onboarding and performance management to compensation philosophy and culture development.

At Rillet, we embrace flexible work arrangements with a remote-first culture. While this position offers remote work flexibility, we have a preference for candidates located within commuting distance of our New York City or San Francisco offices to facilitate in-person collaboration when needed.

What You'll Do

  • Build foundational HR infrastructure including policies, performance systems, and compliance frameworks from the ground up
  • Own the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through performance management and career development (plus support wider talent and people initiatives ad-hoc!)
  • Partner with leadership to develop compensation philosophy, job leveling, and equity frameworks that scale with growth
  • Drive culture and engagement initiatives while maintaining compliance with employment laws and HR best practices

Who We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 2 years in a senior HR business partner or people operations role
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices across multiple states/jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and prioritize initiatives that drive maximum impact for scaling organizations
  • Experience with HR technology stack including HRIS, ATS, performance management, and benefits administration platforms
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and advise leadership while maintaining confidentiality and building trust across all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record building HR functions at early-stage companies with experience scaling teams from 20-100+ employees preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred

Life At Rillet

  • Competitive Compensation: We're backed by some of the best investors and excited to offer competitive compensation packages, including equity.
  • Benefits: Competitive healthcare and dental insurance options.
  • Growth Opportunity: We’re excited to build a team who strives for excellence with big ambitions who will grow in roles, responsibilities, and compensation as we do.
  • Time to Decompress: Flexible PTO with 9 company-wide holidays.
  • Remote Friendly: We have offices in San Francisco, New York, and Barcelona. With team members working remotely from all over the world.
  • Team Building: In-person opportunities that are designed to help team members foster collaboration and build community; our team has had offsites in New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Italy, France, and other International Locations!
