About The Role
Wildsam is seeking a Digital Editor to lead the editorial voice of our digital platforms, including Wildsam.com, email newsletters, and social media. As a key member of our editorial team, this role blends storytelling expertise with digital savvy to deepen our connection with readers and guide the evolution of our digital presence.
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how our trusted American travel brand shows up online, collaborating across teams to develop and deliver compelling content that reflects Wildsam’s mission: to introduce curious travelers to the most authentic, inspiring experiences across the U.S.
This is a unique opportunity to help steer a beloved editorial print-first brand through exciting digital growth. You’ll work closely with the Editor-in-Chief, senior editorial staff, and cross-functional partners in business, sales, and operations.

What You’ll Do
Digital Editorial Leadership
- Lead editorial planning and publishing for Wildsam.com
- Own the digital editorial calendar: in collaboration with the EIC and other editors, plan, assign, and track stories in alignment with overall brand and business goals
- Run regular story development meetings and contribute to long-term content strategy
- Monitor key performance metrics, providing insights and strategic recommendations to drive impact across engagement and brand growth
- Write and edit content across Wildsam.com and additional digital channels
- Pitch and commission original stories that reflect Wildsam’s editorial vision and support strategic objectives
- Maintain editorial quality, voice, and consistency across all digital platforms
- Collaborate with print and magazine editors on cross-channel storytelling
- Manage CMS and oversee day-to-day publishing workflows for Wildsam.com
- Regularly refresh and curate the homepage and key landing pages
- Collaborate with the Sales team on branded content production
- Partner with Operations to identify and address technical issues affecting content performance
- Help define and execute newsletter and social media strategies
- Ensure content aligns with brand tone and deepens audience engagement
- Work cross-functionally to align messaging, promotions, and audience development goals
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in digital editorial, preferably in travel, lifestyle, or culture media
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong editorial voice and attention to detail
- Experience managing editorial calendars, content planning, and publishing schedules
- Proficiency with a CMS (e.g., WordPress or similar) and digital publishing workflows
- Familiarity with SEO principles and how to apply them to digital content
- Ability to interpret content performance data (Google Analytics, etc.) to inform strategy
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with editorial, design, sales, and operations teams
- Experience commissioning and working with freelance writers or contributors
- Knowledge of email marketing tools and strategy (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo, etc.)
- Working knowledge of social media platforms as editorial and audience engagement tools
- Familiarity with sponsored/branded content production and client-facing collaboration
- Passion for American travel, culture, road trips, and storytelling rooted in place
- Visual literacy or experience working with photography/video teams a plus
