Job Overview

The Director, Contracting and Procurement (“Director”) will lead our contract management and procurement functions. It is responsible for both vendor relationships and customer contracts. It will play a critical role in ensuring cost-effective procurement, while working cross-functionally to build a scalable and efficient contracting process. Additionally, this role will partner with legal, sales, and operations to support customer contract creation, review, and execution as well as the hand off to finance for billing.

The Director reports to the Company’s SVP, Finance and will have 1 direct report. Key interdependencies include the executive leadership team and department leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Contracting Support:
  • Review and support the negotiation of customer agreements (e.g., MSAs, SOWs, BAAs, quotes)
  • Work closely with the legal to ensure contracts reflect risk tolerance and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with sales, legal, and account management teams to streamline contract workflows and improve turnaround times
  • Maintain contract templates and assist in developing playbooks for contract negotiation
  • Track contract obligations, renewal dates, and key milestones using CLM or CRM tools
  • Oversee responses to customer Requests for Proposal (RFP)
  • Procurement Leadership:
  • Lead and evolve the company’s procurement strategy, policies, and processes
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with key suppliers to secure advantageous terms
  • Manage vendor lifecycle, including onboarding, performance evaluation, and offboarding
  • Monitor procurement KPIs and identify areas for cost savings and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with finance to develop sourcing budgets
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Serve as a liaison between legal, sales, finance, and operations
  • Educate internal stakeholders on procurement and contracting best practices
  • Lead or support strategic sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations for customer and vendor agreements

Required

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract management, including experience supporting customer contracting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or related field; MBA or JD a plus
  • Prior healthcare and/or software industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate complex agreements
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and common contract structures (MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, etc.).
  • Understanding of procurement software, CLM platforms, and ERP systems
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing obligations.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Working knowledge of data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements in contracting
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPM) or contract management (e.g., IACCM/WorldCC)
  • Demonstrates initiative in problem solving and following through on tasks
