The Role You'll Contribute
The Patient Care Coordinator provides continuous and well-rounded care to surgical and non-surgical patients. Educates the patient and/or family on pre-operative and post-operative care in addition to the treatments being provided in the practice. Schedules surgical procedures, pre-admission testing and serves as a liaison between the patient and practice support staff. Monitors the patients' course of treatment and communicates pertinent information to the physician to obtain referrals and/or orders for medication and/or diagnostic tests. Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.

The Value You'll Bring To The Team
- Answers phones, schedules patient appointments and triages patient phone calls. Returns telephone calls in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes work tasks, maintains a steady workflow, follows through until task is complete. Uses appropriate problem solving and decision-making abilities based on established protocols.
- Thoroughly explains procedures, treatments, and nursing care to patients and/or family.
- Reviews patient charts to ensure that all test results and correspondence are present prior to the physician seeing the patient. Obtains appropriate authorizations from patients insurance carrier.
- Reviews appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients.
- Maintains and updates physicians schedule coordinating patient procedures. Schedules patient procedures and provides hospital information with applicable.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
- 1 year experience in medical setting
