Hiring from: United States
At The Wilkinson Firm, we partner with behavioral and mental health organizations to provide HR and workforce solutions that let leaders focus on care, not compliance headaches. We're not a traditional HR consultancy or staffing agency; were building a firm that sits shoulder-to-shoulder with clinics, nonprofits, and practices to make their people systems strong, compliant, and sustainable.

We're looking for an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner (depending on experience) who thrives in dynamic environments, cares about people and compliance in equal measure, and wants to contribute to the growth of a firm that's redefining HR in mental & behavioral health.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the day-to-day HR partner for assigned client accounts, guiding managers through employee relations, performance management, leave administration, and policy interpretation.
  • Manage HR compliance across multiple states, including Medicaid-related requirements, licensure tracking, mandatory training records, and internal audits.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for client organizations (offer letters, background checks, I-9s, etc.), ensuring every step reflects excellence.
  • Support client policy rollouts, handbook updates, and compliance communications.
  • Coordinate and track training initiatives (compliance, clinical, and HR).
  • Collaborate with internal leadership to develop HR tools, templates, and resources that make our service delivery better.
  • Contribute to special projects: benefits open enrollment, compensation reviews, workforce planning, HRIS implementation.
  • Provide occasional on-site client support (<25% travel) where relationships and compliance require in-person partnership.

    What You Bring

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
    • For HR Generalist level: 2+ years HR generalist experience (healthcare, nonprofit, or behavioral health strongly preferred).
    • For HRBP level: 5+ years progressive HR experience with proven ability to consult with leadership.
    • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification strongly preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of HR compliance (FMLA, ADA, wage/hour, multi-state regs).
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to juggle priorities across multiple clients.
    • A relationship-driven mindset, with attention to detail and follow-through that builds client trust.

    Why Join TWF?

    • Be part of a fast-growing firm that's carving out a new space in HR for mental & behavioral health.
    • Work directly with clients in meaningful industries, helping them strengthen the systems that support their clinicians and communities.
    • Join a team that values excellence, empathy, and clarity in our work, in our relationships, and in how we grow.
    • Shape not only client outcomes, but also the internal growth of The Wilkinson Firm as we scale.
