The Onboarding Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the client onboarding process, from pre-call preparation through full transition to their long-term Accounting Manager. You'll handle everything from initial account setup, process design, and cleanup work to SOP creation and client training, ensuring each client's unique needs are addressed with precision and care. This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring strong accounting knowledge, a deep understanding of construction industry workflows, and the ability to problem-solve in real time during onboarding calls. You'll work directly with clients, coordinate across internal teams, and set the foundation for ongoing client satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full client onboarding lifecycle, from initial consultation to handoff
• Prepare for and lead onboarding calls (approx. 2 hours each), ensuring accuracy, clarity, and client confidence
• Evaluate client situations, recommend process improvements, and implement solutions tailored to their needs
• Perform accounting cleanups, balance sheet reconciliations, and technology integrations
• Coordinate with clients' tax accountants to ensure compliance and readiness
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) documenting client-specific workflows
• Collaborate with internal Accounting Managers to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing support
• Monitor onboarding timelines and milestones, adjusting as needed to meet client goals
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with construction accounting expertise strongly preferred
• CPA designation preferred (or equivalent experience in public accounting and/or construction industry)
• Proven success in client-facing roles requiring both technical and relationship management skills
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with construction-specific tools and technology
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership abilities
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to guide clients through complex processes
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fully remote environment

• Full time, fully remote work.

• Competitive salary range at $120,000 to $130,000 per year (based on experience)
