Job Summary:
Launch Potato is a digital media company known for connecting advertisers to customers throughout their consumer journey. The Editorial Assistant, SEO will support the FinanceBuzz team in producing high-quality SEO content, manage various editorial tasks, and ensure content accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Assist and support the FinanceBuzz staff in the team’s mission to produce high-quality content that helps our readers make smart decisions that better their lives and also performs well in terms of search results and revenue.
• Support editorial teams that create SEO content.
• Work independently on a variety of responsibilities with both short and long-term deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a CMS and able to assemble and publish content.
• Adjust or update content as needed with strong writing skills.
• Optimize hyperlinks in published content.
• Collect and input information into Google spreadsheets.
• Assist with compliance projects.
• Crop and upload photos.
• Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with excellent attention to detail.
• Support editorial or digital content teams in an assistant or production role.
• Learn and adapt to new systems, workflows, and tools.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms, Google Docs/Sheets, and basic content formatting (including light HTML).
• Familiarity with basic SEO practices.
• Implement AI in personal workflow and content creation.
• Assist with the daily process of publishing new content — formatting posts, creating and/or adding images/charts/visuals/HTML tables, and getting to hit the publish button!
• Update published content for accuracy, monetization, SEO, and reader experience.
• Update data in internal tools and resources to ensure consistent accuracy of content.
• Ensure disclosures and compliance requirements are applied to new and existing content.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation for the team.
• Help with fact checking and copyediting.
• Work closely with the Editorial Team to improve knowledge and skills through feedback.
• Grow and foster the FinanceBuzz brand as a top destination for personal finance information and education.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a remote environment with strong communication and time management skills
• Experience supporting editorial or digital content teams in an assistant or production role
• High level of comfort with learning and adapting to new systems, workflows, and tools
• Familiarity with CMS platforms, Google Docs/Sheets, and basic content formatting (including light HTML)
• Familiarity with basic SEO practices
• An open mind around the implementation of AI in your personal workflow and in content creation
• 1+ years supporting editorial or content production teams in a fast-paced environment, ideally in digital media or performance marketing
